Write your own Story
“Walking and talking” has been good for me, physically and mentally, but writing about it has added another dimension to my emotional and mental wellness. I find the process of writing enjoyable and healing. It has taken me to a deeper level of thinking and reflection.
In fact, I have found writing so enjoyable that it has kept me happily occupied for the last few years. I have recorded, in some detail, my own experiences, the good and the bad, over the first forty years of my life. If I live long enough, I hope to be able to continue to write more. My family have told me that they love the end products.
Passing something of myself on when I am no longer here, leaves me, now that I’m very old, feeling more settled and content. This is why I’m happy to encourage you to join me and start writing your own story and share small parts of your own life history with the younger generation. Believe me, you will find it rewarding!
You and I have lived our early lives in a world that was very different to how it is today, and our experiences are worth remembering and recording. If you have grandchildren, or interested loved ones at any level of the family, they will value being able to read your stories. It will help them to understand you, and perhaps even themselves, that much better.
